When visitors come to your website, how long do you think they stay? Statistics say, they will leave your site within 3.5 seconds if there is nothing that catches their attention.

So what will it take to keep them at your site to buy products you are selling or to get them to come back to your site?

Even after spending countless hours, days, months developing your site. Doing all the keyword and market niche research still doesn't ensure that when someone comes to your site they are going to stay around long enough to buy what you have.

1 - Loud and Clear Call to Action

The top portion of your website should immediately tell your visitor what they are to expect. When you walk into stores there are always huge signs telling the consumer where certain key products are located. That customer is happy to shop in a store that provides immediate information. Otherwise, a customer could get frustrated and leave. That is exactly how you should think about your home page to your website.

It is your front door! So when you open that door you better have a clear call to action.

Do you want your visitor to sign up for your newsletter that will provide them with all kinds of cool free information, or you want them to watch a video that gives them quick information or details of why they are there and why they should keep looking around your site!

Be creative by tossing in a free bonus book or product to make them sign up as soon as they access your site. Maybe you have a give-a-away or coupon special that your visitors can get immediate access to.

Always remember the 3.5 second rule and that will help you to understand how important your information on your home page must include.

2 - Specify Your Products or Services

Nothing is more frustrating when you go to a website that sells toys and the only thing you see first is a large paragraph about the owner and how long he owned his store and how he loves providing toys .... blah, blah, blah. Your 3.5 seconds will kick in and your visitor will be gone.

If you sell a specific product, then feature one or two good quality photos that represent your products. Have bold titles that are descriptive and at the same time you are using your key words for the search engines.

Your featured products should always be above the fold on your website. Meaning, they should always reside at the top along with your call to action.

Any sales, specials or new designs should also be added in this area. Always remembering the 3.5 second rule. If it doesn't catch your eye, then you probably need to make some changes.

3 - Legitimize Your Website

So many people use the internet to search for products and services but also use the internet to research the companies they are thinking of buying from. We are becoming more knowledgeable of how the internet is helpful for our shopping needs. But we also are learning of certain scams or companies that take your money and run.

Make sure your company and contact information is easily available to your visitors. Generally, this information is found towards the bottom of your website. I highly suggest that you have buttons accessible above the fold of your site so visitors can immediately access 'contact' and 'about the company'.

When you make it easy for your visitors to know who you are, how long you have been in business, your privacy policy, secure shopping information, etc., that is when you will have a visitor turn into a paying customer.

Ideally adding Better Business Bureau or Quality Award banners are another great way for your visitors to know that you are a reputable business. It is also a huge benefit to have these banners on your site for search engine ranking. Look into how your online business can obtain awards and other designations.

Implement these top 3 features for better website conversion. Always keep testing with new titles, descriptions, photos, etc. to find the right combination that will bring you massive results you are searching for.
